Description:

The Linguistics Program within the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (formerly National Chiao Tung University), Taiwan, is inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty position specializing in laboratory phonology and/or phonetics. The selected candidate will become an integral part of our vibrant team, beginning 1 August 2025.

We are specifically looking for candidates with expertise in cognitive linguistics. The successful applicant will receive a comprehensive package, including an independent lab space, startup funds, and housing accommodation support for a duration of three years.

Responsibilities:
– Deliver diverse undergraduate and graduate courses, including Introduction to Linguistics, Phonetics and Phonology, a graduate course in Phonology, and undergraduate English skill courses. (The usual teaching load is 2 courses per semester.)
– Demonstrate the capability to secure external research grants.
– Actively engage in initiating new collaborations and expanding existing partnerships with other research groups.
